Seems everyone is at Catalyst this week or the CITRT. I don’t get to go to those this year and at times I found that pretty difficult and other times I wondered what difference does it make. I’m always looking for new ways to be challenged and at times that in itself caused inner turmoil. I look forward to hearing the stories and the lessons learned at these and many other conferences that happen each year. I guess I can look forward to the time and money saved by learning through the eyes and ears of other people. That being said sit up and pay attention because I want to learn, live, and be challenged!
YouTube, Google Checkout for Non-profit
Saw this on Mashable the other day and thought wow this is pretty cool I hope it works like I want it to. Pretty much Youtube has set-up to allow non-profits to have their own channels along with being integrated with Google Checkout donation feature for non-profits which charges NO FEES (at least through 2008). So once you’re channel is set-up (still waiting on mine) you can show your videos, weekend messages, etc and then collect online donations with NO FEES.
An extra little benefit which I’m assuming is probably all given away but might not be is that the first 300 non-profits that sign-up with YouTube will get a video camera from puredigital/casio.
New must have pool accessory
As we are very close to closing on a new home, I’ve decided this is my must have pool accessory. And yes our new home as pool and firepit so entertaining is now my official hobby. To make sure I’m entertaining in style I’ve officially begun my collection for my new wide-screen outdoor theater. As seen on Crunchgear.com and the picture above who wouldn’t want to have one of these? Of course this is strictly for ministry purposes.
Free Wi-Fi Software
In Network World they had an article for Free Wi-fi software. This software allows you to network computers wirelessly directly between the computers without having to use a router.
“We want to bring this to as many people as possible,” says Professor Roy Friedman of the Technion Faculty of Computer Science, in a statement. “When there are two computers in the same room, it doesn’t make sense that they must go out to the Internet to communicate. WiPeer’s main added value is the ability to keep things local.”
While I haven’t tried this yet it definitely sounds interesting. What do you think?
