Once again the Church tech world is going to get a little lighter.  After finishing BL3 in 4th place I’ve set my goals a little higher this time (as I always do).  Of course everything just seems to be an excuse for something else, but I’m figuring this will all be worthwhile so we got the kayaks racks back on the Trailblazer, went and bought a couple of mountain bikes to hit the trails with, and of course all of that will let us do some more geocaching so I’m exicted for a great summer.  The wife has just 16.5 days of school left and then she gets the summer off (I think I should have been a teacher) so I’ll just be trying to keep up with her. All that to say I invite each of you in the Church techie world whether staff or volunteer, IT, Web, AV, or Tech/Production Arts to join us in Biggest Loser 4.  And if you’re wondering it’s all based on % so you have an equal or better shot no matter your size. I double dog dare ya!

Spring in Florida is a beautiful place, the pool is warming up, the grills are a grilling, and most important….. SPRING TRAINING! The pitchers and catchers have reported and the rest of the team will be showing up soon. My wife works across the street from the Pittsburgh Pirates Southern Home, and just down the road from there McKecknie field where the games are held. I don’t say all that just to rub it in but to let you know that Jody Ferrell has set-up and blooged about CITRT Fantasy Baseball League. What’s more ITish then enjoying sports through technology.

Fresh off last nights AP wire via ESPN (how I get all my AP wire stories)…..the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are now officially the……the Tampa Bay Rays.

Went to my first NFL game yesterday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, the two professional football teams in Florida. (Dolphins 0-8, have never been on my radar, this year especially, season ticket holders should get a refund) We parked off-site as a 2-minute walk saves $15, once we got on Buc property till we left there was no interaction with the Bucs. The security guard didn’t talk, the ticket scanner says “move on”, the give-away person just hand’s out the awkward to use Bucs flags without a word. We go to our seat wait for the game(service) to begin, cheer and sit (worship and the message), we lost so we didn’t like the ending, we then get in the car and leave. The herd moved in, grazed for awhile, and the herd moved out.

Obviously I’m awkwardly relating this to church services. How ofter do church’s move people in, let them watch while we do our thing, and then help them quickly leave. With the hopes the better our show the more people that will come back. What are we doing to interact with people, to get them involved, and to take the next step. Our Christianity isn’t about watching from the stands it’s about being part of the game. Now not everyone is comfortable with being “on the field”, but there are lot of other places to get involved that are essential to the game. How easy do we make it for others to realize this?

As we are very close to closing on a new home, I’ve decided this is my must have pool accessory. And yes our new home as pool and firepit so entertaining is now my official hobby. To make sure I’m entertaining in style I’ve officially begun my collection for my new wide-screen outdoor theater. As seen on Crunchgear.com and the picture above who wouldn’t want to have one of these? Of course this is strictly for ministry purposes.

Yes, the team won it all in 2004 is back in the playoffs and I think this qualifies as a valid post as the St. Pete Times forum is just seconds from the water.  So all that to say I expect the Lightning once again will be going far in the playoffs and in the perfect world the Stanley Cup finals will be your Tampabay Lightning vs. the Dallas Stars.
